My First Fifty

I am making an effort to take part in The Daily Post’s weekly writing challenges. This week’s challenge was simple: write a “fifty,” a fifty word story. The only rule was stick to the word count. Overall, this was a good first challenge for me given the amount of screenwriting and poetry I’ve been getting my hands into recently. So here it is, my first “fifty”:

“I leave tomorrow,” he said.

“Please don’t go,” she pleads.

“It’s time to move on.”

The smell of red wine is overwhelming.

“…but I only want you,” she said.

“I’m too young to stay here forever,” he said.

He walks away.

She places the money on the table,

No Tip.
